Ok, maybe they don't suck but they are taking themselves too seriously now-a-days. Let's Take 7 Pounds for instance. I think Will Smith is a great actor and so my my cousin Melody (her husband is just catching on to his skills). BUT this movie is wayyyy too much. Rosario Dawson and Will Smith had good chemistry and they are great actors but give me a break. Why was this movie soooo damn soppy, and depressing and unrealistic. People in real life don't act so passionately about things (except for my lil bro Christophe, but that's a whole other story). I can't even continue to talk about that movie because it's boring me, and because I don't want to step on the toes of my one day co-star, biggest celebrity in the world, greatest actor in the world, funniest man on the planet, Mr. 4th of July (Yeah, I'm sucking up, and what!!!!)
After discussing 7 pounds my cousin asked me if I was going to see that Jamie Foxx movie about the crazy black violinist who is saved by the altruistic (look it up) white guy. I sent her this [with some added stuff just for the blog ;) ]:
I'm sick of these "white man saves artistic but challenged black *insert man woman or child* movies. I mean can we please get a movie where black people and white people on equal footing. And all these feel good movies are killing me. I know it's the winter season and around the holidays but where is the killing, the funny, the action, the ignorance. I'm sick of feelin all warm and mushy inside. I'm sick of that awww feeling. I'm sick of fighting back that one tear when the good guy save the *insert man woman or child* from some horrible plight. I just wanna watch a movie and be like "WHOA!!!! Did you see that shit?!?!?1 DAYUM that was tight!!!!."
I saw all this to say....MOVIES SUCK NOW-A-DAYS
