So once again I'm at work and I decided to look on my favorite news source, yahoo news and I came across this story.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20090106/ts_alt_afp/ustransportairsecuritymuslimsrights_090106002219
For all of you lazy bums who don't like to read full stories, I'll summarize it for you. A man was rewarded $240,000 dollars for being forced to cover Arab T-shirt reading "We Will Not Be Silent." According to the news source, He was told other passengers felt uncomfortable because an Arabic-inscribed T-shirt in an airport was like "wearing a T-shirt at a bank stating, I am a robber,'" the ACLU said.
I'm thinking to myself when did being of Arab descent become synonymous with being a terrorist. AND when did we lose the right to freely express ourselves. I'll admit, I get a lil scared when I'm on a plane and someone starts acting weird, no matter what their race or nationality may be. But people, we need to grow up!!!!! I think of myself as an equal opportunity racist (meaning I HATE ALL PEOPLE, Black, White, Latino, Jewish, the Rich, the dumb , especially the dumb) but this has gone way tooo far!!! And for a major airline to feed into this racist bullshit this guy should have been rewarded more and the employees should have been fired, recession and all. I'm very happy that he stood up for not only his freedom of expression but his right not to be discriminated against because of his ethnicity when all he wanted to do was go from point A to point B.
I'm pretty sure that those "other" passenger on the plane were dumb hick fucks who've never been out of their trailer park and know no better than what they see at the weekly swap meet/flea market.
Life after 9/11 is crazy, no one has any rights anymore. What's next? In order to board a plane will I have to wear all black or something?
I'm just sayin!!!!
Thoughts????
